The main character, Edwin Greenhill, had a very normal life, until one day he was paid a visit that changed his destiny forever.

Set against a fantasy medieval backdrop, Edwin is a cobbler's apprentice in the city. He has suffered a blow to the head, and the story begins as he awakes and starts trying to piece together the things that have happened to him.
